In my opinion, the essence of ceramic painting lies in expressing everything with just a few strokes. Over the years I have developed my own very reduced style. With a few strokes I depict personalities, mostly women. When painting ceramics, the line must fit right away. Any hesitation can have a negative effect on the result and can weaken the expression.
In 2005 the salt fire series "Mädchenteller - Tellermädchen" was created in Lockenhaus.
A special type of ceramic firing is the salt firing. A handful of salt is thrown directly into the fire during the firing process. The chemical reaction produces a transparent glaze on the painted plates. In the winter of 2016 I created the Wine District series, glaze on fireclay.
