The Austrian artist Margit Taus completed her master class in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 1982 under the direction of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. After international residencies and membership in the artist group CULT, she established her studio in Vienna in 2009. Taus’ versatile works include wax sculptures, reliefs and collages, as well as covering cars and clothes with a specially developed wax mixture. In the 2000s, she devoted herself mainly to acrylic painting, inspired by current observations, personal experiences and a closeness to nature. Her artworks have been acquired by renowned institutions such as the MUSA Museum Startgalerie Artothek and the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich.
